SEYMOUR HOLTZMAN HONORED BY CARDINAL CUSHING SCHOOL

Cardinal Cushing School and Training Center, Hanover, Massachusetts, recently honored Seymour Holtzman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jewelcor Incorporated by dedicating a classroom in his honor. Designated as the Seymour Holtzman Room, the area will be an integral part of the training program provided by the internationally known residential school for developmentally delayed children from ages six to twenty two.

Seymour Holtzman, who was named “Humanitarian of the Year” last year by the forty year old facility, joins other distinguished corporate and governmental leaders who have had classrooms dedicated in their honor. Among those who have been selected for this distinction are former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Thomas P., “Tip” O’Neil; Ray and Arlene Zimmerman of Service Merchandise; Frank Brenton, former President of Marshalls; and Leonard Florence, President and Chairman of the Board of Walace International Silversmiths. The school, founded by the late Cardinal Cushing is located on 200 acres of land.

Presently 150 developmentally delayed children and young adults of all faiths, are enrolled in academic and vocational programs at the school. Holtzman was named “Man of the Year” in 1973 by B’Nai B’rith Youth Services and continues to be a valuable supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Locally, Jewelcor is a major donor of Wilkes College and other social service agencies and cultural organizations.

Since 1960, Seymour Holtzman has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Jewelcor, a Pennsylvania based corporation primarily engaged in the sale of Jewelry and general merchandise, principally nationally advertised brands at catalog showrooms; publication of merchandise catalogs for use at its showrooms and for sale to others; the distribution of popular priced, name-brand watches; and high-speed commercial printing and related activities in the arts.
